The winner of the Midnight M[...]

DIEmonds in the Rough: The Exorcist III

When it comes to the media I consume, I'm a person that loves loving things. I don't like to spend time dwelling on things I don't enjoy, and I can pretty much tell you something I loved about every movie I've seen, story I've read, game I've played and album I've listened to. I approach each new piece of media with the intent of finding something about it to love. This approach has greatly benefited me as a lifelong horror fan, and especially my love of movies that others might deem unwatchable. So as I was knocking around ideas for a series of posts I could do[...]

Let’s Watch Horror Movies!

Happy December, Midnighters! I have an idea. I brilliant idea to bring all us horror lovers together. Do you like watching horror movies? Do you have anyone to watch them with? My hubs and kids do not like my scary movies. I have a drawer full of creepy and watch them alone. I go to the movie theater... alone. Those who would watch with me live far away. Overall, I don’t mind, but it would be fun to be with friends. Why not bring us together? Kinda. I ANNOUNCE THAT I SHALL LEAD A LIVE-TWEET OF A SCARY MOVIE ONCE A MONTH! We can all gather around ou[...]

Cthulhu Mythos Movies Done Right

(My series on Silent Hill 2 is on hold at the moment, but it'll return soon with part 746 of 982). Since movies became the dominate form of entertainment, nearly everything is either being considered for a movie, or was turned into a movie. Some IPs are easier to adapt for the screen than others though. Movies need action, visuals , loads of dialogue, and a cinematic universe with at least 36 interconnecting movies. The IP that keeps getting the rawest of the rawest deals is the Cthulhu Mythos. The reasons are obvious, the Cthulhu Mythos is low on action, aggre[...]

Writing Bloody: WALKING DEAD Style

WARNING: Brief spoilers contained in this post. If you haven't watched The Walking Dead Season 6, please do not continue reading. If you were anything like me, for four weeks I wondered whether or not Glenn was alive. Was the body on top of him the one the walkers ripped apart? Was he able to crawl underneath the dumpster, he had just been standing on not two minutes ago? I didn't know the answer to those burning questions, but what I did know was that those damn writers wouldn't take a character ending scene like that in Thank You and give us a conclusion the v[...]
