Ladies and gents! Boys and ghouls!
Welcome to The Midnight Society.
We have high hopes for this secret society. Here you will find all sorts of oddities and treasures, screams and scares, and wonderfully dark things. We have creepy photos, real life ghost stories, cemetery visits, new adult and young adult horror books, and much more planned.
All of this is brought to you by our wonderfully horrific team.
You can get to know them a little more intimately on the Obituary page, but let’s see who the members of The Midnight Society are, shall we?
Meet The Midnight Society
Happy St. Patty’s Day!
Also, it didn’t escape me that today is St. Patty’s day! I was hoping I could find some horrific or macabre St. Patty related news to share with you. It’s not entirely St. Patty’s related, but it’s equally as brilliant.
Photo credit: San José Library Digital CollectionsThe Winchester Mystery House began construction in 1884, under the direction of Sarah Winchester, the Winchester gun heiress. It was built for roughly 40 years and contains stairs that lead to nowhere, 160 rooms, windows looking into walls, and more. All of this was built in order to confuse and trap ghosts that Sarah believed were haunting her, as a payback for being killed by the rifles that her family had invented.
People argue as to whether or not this sprawling mansion is really haunted. But one things remains certain, Sarah sure believed that it was.
The Winchester Mystery House, located in Silicon Valley, is rumored to start allowing guests to stay overnight on the premises.
What is so fantastic about this mansion?
Soon, ghost fanatics and horror fans alike will be able to spend the night in the Winchester mansion, wandering through the endless halls and corridors. Never before have people been allowed to stay here.
The best part? The city approved the existing cafe on the premises to be turned into a restaurant open to all AND the consumption of alcohol will be allowed anywhere on site (except the parking lot). I know what you’re thinking… I’ll see you there.
Will you be spending a night in the Winchester mansion? Let me know in the comments below!
