The Babadook

Now in theaters (and as of today also on DirecTV VOD), The Babadook is one scary looking film. The plot: A widow and her troubled son are terrorized by a creature summoned from a children’s book titled Mister Babadook.

While the film looks very promising (I haven’t yet seen it), the thing I am most excited about is…

Or just own a really cool book.

I love pop-up books. Love them. And the idea that I can get a really creepy one makes me so giddy.  So much so that it wouldn’t even matter if the movie weren’t all that great (although something tells me it is), because I believe the book will be a cool enough stand alone item.

I’m pre-ordering mine now…

I just don’t plan to read it aloud.
