I will admit something here that I rarely say aloud because I’d get rotten tomatoes thrown at me, or cursed as I walked down the street. Here it goes–please don’t judge me–I do not like British shows. I know, I know. You all love watching Dr. Who, Sherlock, The Game of Thrones, EastEnders, and Downton Abbey. I just cannot get into these shows. It might just be that I don’t enjoy having to pay too close attention to decipher what the characters are saying with thick accents. I’m not sure what it is, but I have found a show with a Brit as a main character. And I love it!

“Go on then, let’s say hi to his satanic majesty.”
This is the kind of witty dialogue that I look forward to every Friday night on Constantine. Awesome, right?
This series, based on the DC comic Hellblazer, is about John Constantine–a man who’s soul has been damned to hell–fighting to save the innocent from the evil surrounding them in the city. He’s not in this fight alone either. There are Zed (a psychic) and Chaz (John’s long-time friend and tough guy) who help untangle the web of evil from around the city.
There is a bigger plot than meets the eye. John is somehow in league with a notorious fallen angel. I really hope this series stays around, because it is definitely worth watching. Scary? Not really, but totally has a grand mix of darkness and evil I look for in a TV show.

Friday nights I’m either working or so tired I sleep right through the show, but I definitely make sure to DVR!
