The Midnight Society is just bouncing in their coffins. Welcome to October! You’ll want to be here with us every day, because #EverydayisHalloween here at The Midnight Society!

What does that mean exactly? It means we have a month full of events, posts, parties, and scary times planned for you all. It’s time to get in the spirit, and we’re here to make sure you do just that.

Some of the events we have planned include scary movie Tweet-alongs, a Twitter party, horror poetry contest, digital trick-or-treating, photo challenge, jack-o-lantern contest, and The Graveyard Book read-along. #EverydayisHalloween, which means everyday’s a scary fun party ’round these parts.

Nobody does Halloween like The Midnight Society.

As with all good things, we’ll start these events off by bringing up a book! Because every good scary party starts off with a scary story. (If you’ve only been attending those parties where they play music, I am sorry for you. I’m so glad you’ve happened upon this party, where we do things appropriately.) This book has a wide appeal and can be enjoyed by middle grade, YA, and adult fantasy and horror readers, so everyone can get in on the fun. We’ll be tweeting and posting about The Graveyard Book all month, using the #EverydayisHalloween hashtag, and encourage you to hop into the conversation!

How do you join in? 

Step one: Grab a copy of The Graveyard Book! Check your library, bookstore, or possibly your very own bookshelf. This book is everywhere. Next step, read it. Tweet about it! Again, I remind you, use the #EverydayisHalloween hashtag! And then, on October 27th at 7PM PST via Google Hangout, join us for our first meeting of The Midnight Society Book Club! The live book chat is a guaranteed good time. Halloween? The Graveyard Book? Talk of books? Midnight Society members? Do I really have to convince you here?
